About the Auction

Long time Carousel enthusiast and collector, Mr. Al Schoenbach has decided it is time to liquidate his fantastic collection of horses, chariots, shields, rounding boards, panels and more at public auction.  Mr. Schoenbach was instrumental in many facets pertaining to the Carousel industry including his involvement in the early stages of The Carousel News and Trader all the way to the help and guidance he provided in the construction of the carousel at the Silver Beach Center where this important auction will be held.

AUCTION LOCATION:  There is no better location to conduct this auction than the Silver Beach Center.  Silver Beach was home to the Silver Beach Amusement park that operated from 1891 to 1971 right here on the shores of Lake Michigan.  Today, one the the newest, year round entertainment venues in Southwestern Michigan was built in honor of this one time park.  The Silver Beach center, complete with carousel, Amusement Park museum, Kids Discovery Zone and more is the perfect location for this beautiful collection. TERMS OF SALE FOR LIVE AUCTION BIDDERS:  Cash, Check (bank letter of credit required for out of state checks), Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.   A 13% buyers premium will be charged at this auction; however,  3% of the buyers premium will be reduced with receipt of cash or check lowering the buyer’s premium to 10%.  Michigan 6% Sales tax will be charged unless we obtain a copy of your sales tax license.  Food & Restroom facilities on site.
